Fame, The Musical
SJS students have for so long been known for their distinguished talents in various performing arts. This year’s musical “Fame”, which was performed by SJS students during the first three weeks of June at the St. Joseph Theater, revealed some amazing talents whether in acting, singing, or dancing.
Julianna Yazbeck bedazzled the crowd with her angelic voice and exquisite acting. Ingrid Bawab’s superb singing and acting also stunned the audience. Karim Kourani playing “Montgomery McNeil” and Andre Haikal as “Raph Garci” both offered some fine and accurate acting. Thierry Rouhana enchanted the audience with his beautiful singing and guitar performance. Elie Azar, Lara Kerbaj, Alfred Zakhour, Anthony Haddad, Tara Khoury, Samar Yammine; all revealed amazing acting skills.
Let’s not forget the remarkable performance of the dancers, the choir, and the band who accompanied the cast with live music that rocked the theater throughout the whole play.
Remember… They are all SJS students!!!
“While I was sitting in my seat watching the play, I couldn’t help but think how glad and proud I was to see what a wonderful job all these talented students are doing…”
And do you know who was behind all this success? Let’s all raise our hats to none but our own alumnus: Tenor Edgard Aoun who arranged, adapted, and directed the play; and to alumni Amine Hachem, Andrew Hachem, Tarek Ghandour, Tamer Ghandour and Jihad Yaacoub.
A big round of applause to all those who participated in the Fame musical, to the school’s total support, and for those who have worked very hard behind the scenes to produce and stage one of the best student performances this year.
