Doctor Walid
Walid Haddad graduated from Saint Joseph School in 1992. A few years later in 1999, he graduated from the American University of Beirut with a medical degree, and after completing one year of medical internship and another three years of residency in ophthalmology at AUB, he was chosen amongst hundreds of applicants to be a corneal Fellow /Junior Associate in one of the leading laser centers in the world, the Vanderbilt Wang Vision Eye Institute in Nashville Tennessee. During his stay in the United States, Walid performed cutting edge training in LASIK and LASER and research offering him several opportunities as a keynote speaker and lecturer, addressing thousands of doctors in the Annual Meetings for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Today, Walid is a general eye surgeon and a specialist in laser and LASIK surgery. He works in Trad and Levant Hospitals and Laservision center in Hazmieh
Walid holds more than 7 different certificates for several types of LASIK/laser surgeries.
He was also proficiently trained in new techniques for corneal transplantation, special lens implants for high myopes (more than 15-20 degrees) and challenging cases of cataract surgery.
On a more personal level, and in addition to the many social activities he participates in, Walid is also a sports lover. He was a member of the Sagesse Soccer Team for 12 years, from 1983 till 1995, a member of the Soccer Varsity Team of the American University of Beirut, and a leading scorer and member of the John Glenn High School in Ohio in 1989. Other sports practiced by Walid are table-tennis, skiing, water polo, American football, carting… Walid also likes to travel a lot and discover new cultures. He has visited many countries all over the world.
